The idea of this assignment was to create a piece from a 6 x 6 x 6 cm cube, and then make a composition by repeating and changing it slightly. I started by sketching different proposals, until I figured one I liked. After that, I made a preliminary version with styrofoam. That way, I could calculate the angles and exact measures of every piece and the final composition.

I named and organized every piece, for afterwards making copies with the correct shape and size. Then, I cut every piece in the polyethylene and started gluing the pieces together with the help of an special glue that melted the plastic and made it look seamless. After coloring the interiors pink, I glued the big windows and painted the outer part white.

Having decided how I wanted the surroundings look like, I cut out the hard cardboard, and mounted the different parts one on top to the other to create the smooth ramps. I wanted to create a little slope, and then put the building like it was leaning on it.

I painted the environment white, with soft pink to create some shadows. With a darker tone of pink, I painted a little lake on the bottom layer. I made the trees with pink colored paper and glued the final piece after making a hole with a drill to fit them.

This was the first maquette I made on the course and I really enjoyed myself while doing it. Creating such a big piece from scratch made me realise of what kind of things I was able to create.
