My artistic path

Searching for some old archives I needed, I came across a hidden treasure I forgot I had: all the artwork I have done since I was little. I thought it's interesting how I've developed as an artist and decided to share it with you all. I have to specially thank my mother, who has gathered all this pieces though the years, scanning them all or in different boxes, so we can take a look to them now.

I have to thank my parents too for letting me to explore with different materials and techniques, encouraging me to continue drawing and creating.

I hope I can continue creating new things for years to come, expressing myself freely and constantly trying new things.

1998

2 years. Weird shapes made by smashing paint all over my hands and placing them in the paper.

1999

3 years. I started using a brush for creating my compositions.

2000

4 years. I started drawing people I knew and placing them in different situations. I continued doing this for a couple of years, drawing my family and friends.

2002

6 years. I used to draw the characters of my favorite movies by hearth. My mom consistently took pictures of the board in which my sisters and I hanged our creations. I tried to tell stories trough my drawings.

2003

7 years. Sometimes, I copied other artist's work that I liked. I started creating with more things besides paper. I still drew people I knew in imaginary locations. I liked to represent feelings and I went on drawing big scenes with different story lines happening. I didn't want to leave any part of the paper blank.

2004

8 years. I started capturing my imaginary worlds, filled with the craziest creatures. I also enjoyed drawing the places we have been to. Here, Mojacar, Consuegra and my dad cooking.

2007

11 years. I got into making tiny things. I still make scenes full of things happening at the same time.

2008

12 years. I made one of my first dioramas, representing a village. It's quite damaged, because everything was made with plasticine.

2009

13 years. Based on perception, I tried to capture reality with a twist. I really got into doing different characters with colored clay.

2010

14 years. I started taking drawing lessons, and painted my first ever canvas. I continued doing different kinds of sculptures.

2010

15 years. I started a blog related to Lady Gaga, where Virginia, one of my closest friends, collaborated with some artwork. It's still up, even if it's been long I haven't posted anything. We were very fans, and based our artwork in her looks and aesthetic. The blog was active for 2 and a half years, until the school's work become overwhelming.

2012

16 years. I mostly doodled at school, while listening to the lectures. I tried to connive different techniques to express my emotions and give the artwork a sense. I tried to draw more realistically.

2013

17 years. I got stuck on a realistic phase. I drew things for perception, or copying them from photos.

2014

18 years. I started my degree at DigiPen. I continied drawing for perception, or mixing perception and imagination.

2015

19 years. The university promoted drawing from perception, so I tried to pay attention to the things that surrounded me.

2016

20 years. I switched back to a more impressionism path, trying to express something, rather that just looking and drawing what I saw.

2018

22 years. I started a personal blog where I posted my personal projects. I learned new techniques and explored far from my comfort zone. I started working in dioramas, hoping to make a nice portfolio out of it.

2019

23 years. I'm trying to challenge myself everyday, and trying to go back to perception drawings too.

All in all, and as I had already said, I hope to be able to continue to create and explore for years to come.
