Mandrillus Sphinx enclosure

My friend Cristina Castaño needed to create a project for her degree, in which she had to create a enclosure for an species of her choosing. She chose the Mandrillus sphinx, and for representing the enclosure, she asked me to create a model of it. First of all, we talked, so I could get an idea of what she needed and wanted. After that, I started by creating the different ground levels. Following a research of the natural habitat of the mandrill, I hand painted with acrylics the stones. Then, I covered everything with fake grass, created the trees with wire and made the installations.

Recycled materials and cardboard.

Mermaid's dream

I started this project after getting inspired by a drawing by Tasia. The idea of creating a little cosy bathroom full of plants really appealed to me.

Fairy cottage

I was talking a walk over the countryside at my village, and in the middle of a grass field, I found this little brick. Surrounded by nature, something man made. That gave me the idea for creating this little fairy-like house out of it, to make it more related to the environment I found it on.

Castrillo. Village house

This diorama is a representation of the family village house in Castrillo (Burgos). Following a photo from Google Maps and my memory, I drew the floor plant and different views of the house. I created the structure with cardboard and made it look like different materials with paint.

Casa Batlló

This time, I wanted to create an artistic version of a building. I choose "Casa Batlló" by Gaudí, located in Barcelona. It's a pity I've only have one chance to see this amazing house, since admire it's shapes, details and how everything it's though through.
